Design Studio began with an investigative process into the history of Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon, particularly the history of forced land seizure against Black Americans and Native Americans. Investigative history was then combined with a process of using collage to represent this research.
The following collages represent forms of ecological damaged performed on seized land, and serve as proposed interpretations of informing design.
The following proposed design serves as a process of land return to the Kalapuya people within Oregon, with the installation of agricultural and ecological pavilions to provide avenues of land cultivation and restoration.
